Find the nearest desert temples in your Minecraft world from its seed. How to use the desert temple finder

  1. Enter your seed — type or paste it into the seed box and press Go. Text seeds work too; they convert to numbers exactly like the in-game seed field.
  2. Match your version — pick the version your world was generated in. Structure positions change between versions, so this matters.
  3. Read the results — the nearest desert temples appear in the panel, sorted by distance from the search point, each with exact coordinates.
  4. Jump to a result — click a result to center the map on it, then click the marker to copy its coordinates or a ready-made teleport command. Panned somewhere new? Press Search this area to look around the current view.

How do I open a desert temple without blowing up?
The loot sits in a hidden chamber beneath the temple floor, under the blue terracotta block at the center. Never jump down: a stone pressure plate at the bottom is wired to TNT. Dig down beside the drop, remove the pressure plate (or snip it from the side), then loot the four chests.
What loot do desert temples have?
The four chests can hold diamonds, emeralds, enchanted books, golden apples, horse armor and plenty of bones and rotten flesh. Since 1.20, temples also contain suspicious sand you can brush with the archaeology system for pottery sherds and other finds.
Where do desert temples generate?
Only in desert biomes, and they're often half-buried in sand — look for the orange terracotta pattern on the pyramid face. The map on this page shows the desert areas, so you can tell which results sit in a huge desert versus a tiny strip.
Which versions have desert temples?
Desert temples (desert pyramids) were added in Java 1.3.1, so nearly every version the site supports will show them. Positions differ between versions, so pick the version your world was generated in.
Does the desert temple finder work for Bedrock Edition?
Yes — flip the Java / Bedrock toggle above the map. One catch: on Bedrock, desert temples, jungle temples, witch huts and igloos all share a single placement grid and the local biome decides which one generates. So the Bedrock results are those shared candidate spots — a marked spot may turn out to be a different one of the four (or, rarely, none). Bedrock also uses a different RNG than Java, so positions differ from Java for the same seed.
