Minecraft Igloo Finder

Find the nearest igloos in your Minecraft world from its seed. Each result is pinned on the biome map with exact coordinates — click one to jump there, copy the coordinates, or grab a ready-made /tp command. Igloos are small white domes in snowy terrain, genuinely hard to spot against the snow, so exact coordinates beat wandering.

The igloo above ground is just a bed and a furnace — the real value is the 50% chance of a hidden basement with a captive zombie villager and the exact items needed to cure it. The FAQ below covers why that's one of the best early-game plays there is.

How to use the igloo finder

  1. Enter your seed — type or paste it into the seed box and press Go. Text seeds work too; they convert to numbers exactly like the in-game seed field.
  2. Match your version — pick the version your world was generated in. Structure positions change between versions, so this matters.
  3. Read the results — the nearest igloos appear in the panel, sorted by distance from the search point, each with exact coordinates.
  4. Jump to a result — click a result to center the map on it, then click the marker to copy its coordinates or a ready-made teleport command. Panned somewhere new? Press Search this area to look around the current view.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find an igloo from my seed?
Enter your world seed and the finder lists the nearest igloos with exact coordinates, sorted by distance. Click a result to center the map on it, then click the marker to copy the coordinates or a /tp command.
Do all igloos have a basement?
No — about half do. Check under the white carpet inside: if there's a trapdoor, a ladder shaft drops to a hidden basement. The finder can't tell which igloos have one, so check the nearest few.
What's in the igloo basement?
A villager and a zombie villager cleric behind iron bars, a brewing stand with a splash potion of Weakness, and a golden apple in the chest — everything you need to cure the zombie villager on the spot.
Why cure the igloo's zombie villager?
Curing a zombie villager permanently discounts that villager's trades, and the igloo hands you the potion and golden apple for free. It's one of the fastest routes to cheap trading early game — cure the caged cleric, give the pair workstations, and you have a village of two.
Where and in which versions do igloos generate?
Igloos generate in snowy plains, snowy taiga and (rarely) snowy slopes biomes. They were added in Java 1.9, so every version from 1.9 up will show them — positions differ between versions, so pick the version your world was generated in.
Does the igloo finder work for Bedrock Edition?
Yes — flip the Java / Bedrock toggle above the map. One catch: on Bedrock, desert temples, jungle temples, witch huts and igloos all share a single placement grid and the local biome decides which one generates. So the Bedrock results are those shared candidate spots — a marked spot may turn out to be a different one of the four (or, rarely, none). Bedrock also uses a different RNG than Java, so positions differ from Java for the same seed.
