Abandoned Camp is new in the 26.3 snapshot, so it only generates in 26.3+ worlds. These are placement candidates — not biome-filtered — and the terrain map is shown at 1.21.x for reference, since 26.3 worldgen can't be rendered yet.
Nearest Abandoned Camps
Minecraft Abandoned Camp Finder
Map the nearest abandoned camps in your Minecraft world from its seed. Abandoned camps are the small surface structure arriving in the 26.3 snapshots (Third Drop 2026) — a worn tent, an unlit campfire and a handful of chests and barrels that hide some of the strongest early-game loot for their size. The finder pins each candidate's exact X/Z coordinates on an interactive map so you can head straight there instead of wandering.
Because the structure is still in snapshot and its worldgen can't be reproduced offline yet, the results are placement candidates — the spots the game rolls for a camp — shown on a 1.21.x reference map and not filtered by biome. Camps only generate in 18 land biomes, so use the terrain under each marker to skip any candidate that lands in water or the wrong biome.
How to use the abandoned camp finder
- Enter your seed — type or paste it into the seed box and press Go. Text seeds work too; they convert to numbers exactly like the in-game seed field.
- Match your version — pick the version your world was generated in. Structure positions change between versions, so this matters.
- Read the results — the nearest abandoned camps appear in the panel, sorted by distance from the search point, each with exact coordinates.
- Jump to a result — click a result to center the map on it, then click the marker to copy its coordinates or a ready-made teleport command. Panned somewhere new? Press Search this area to look around the current view.
What's inside an abandoned camp
An abandoned camp is built around a tent of white wool stairs with biome-matched fencing and an unlit campfire, ringed by chests and barrels — and sometimes a tree or a small crop farm. Cobwebs and stripped-back wool give it its deserted look. The loot lives in three container types: barrels, common chests and secret chests. Rarely a camp also holds an oxidized copper chest with better loot than the rest, occasionally generated beneath one of the other containers — so it's worth checking under every barrel and chest. A secret chest can carry diamonds or iron gear, which is why a camp close to spawn is such a strong start.
Where abandoned camps generate
Camps scatter across 18 Overworld surface biomes: bamboo jungle, birch forest, cherry grove, the new dappled forest, flower forest, forest, meadow, old growth birch forest, old growth pine taiga, old growth spruce taiga, pale garden, savanna, snowy taiga, sparse jungle, swamp, taiga, windswept forest and wooded badlands. They use the same wide placement grid as villages, so a camp is never far — the finder's job is telling you which candidate is closest and reachable on land.
Frequently asked questions
- What is an abandoned camp in Minecraft?
- It's a small surface structure being added in the 26.3 (Third Drop 2026) snapshots: a worn tent of white wool stairs with an unlit campfire and a scatter of chests and barrels, sometimes with a tree or small crop farm nearby. Despite its size it can hold strong early-game loot — the occasional oxidized copper chest and hidden secret chests carry the best rewards.
- Which versions have abandoned camps?
- Abandoned camps are new in the 26.3 snapshots (Third Drop 2026) and are still in development, so they only generate in worlds created on 26.3 or later. That's why this page is labelled a 26.3 snapshot tool — on 1.21 and earlier there is nothing to find.
- Are these exact camp locations?
- The finder shows candidate locations from the seed's placement grid — the exact spots the game rolls for a camp. Because 26.3 worldgen can't be reproduced offline yet, the results are not biome-filtered, so a spot in an ocean or a biome that doesn't host camps won't actually generate one. Abandoned camps only appear in 18 land biomes, so use the terrain map to skip candidates that clearly land in water or the wrong biome.
- Why is the terrain map from 1.21.x if this is a 26.3 tool?
- No seed tool can render 26.3 terrain yet, so the map draws the closest version we can compute (1.21.x) as a reference backdrop. Biomes barely change between 1.21 and 26.3 — 26.3 mainly adds the dappled forest — so the terrain under a marker is a reliable guide to whether a candidate sits on land in a camp-hosting biome.
- Which biomes do abandoned camps generate in?
- Eighteen Overworld surface biomes: bamboo jungle, birch forest, cherry grove, dappled forest, flower forest, forest, meadow, old growth birch forest, old growth pine taiga, old growth spruce taiga, pale garden, savanna, snowy taiga, sparse jungle, swamp, taiga, windswept forest and wooded badlands.
- What loot is inside an abandoned camp?
- Camps carry barrels, common chests and secret chests, and rarely an oxidized copper chest with more valuable loot than the standard containers — sometimes tucked beneath one of them. A secret chest can hand you diamonds or iron gear before you've built a proper base, which is what makes a camp near spawn such a strong opening.
- Does the abandoned camp finder work for Bedrock Edition?
- Not yet. This finder covers Java 26.3 worldgen only. Bedrock places scattered structures with a different random generator, so a Java result won't match a Bedrock world with the same seed — and the camp's Bedrock placement isn't confirmed yet.
