Compare Minecraft Seeds

Hold two seeds against each other in one view. Load a seed into A and another into B, then drag the divider to wipe between their maps. Both worlds stay locked to the same coordinates, version and dimension, so a village at spawn on one seed lines up exactly against whatever the other seed puts in the same place — the honest way to decide which world to play.

How to compare

  1. Load two seeds — type or paste one into A and one into B, or roll the dice for a random world. Press Enter to apply.
  2. Match the version — the version, edition and dimension apply to both sides at once, so the comparison stays fair.
  3. Wipe and explore — drag the divider to reveal more of A or B, pan and zoom to travel (both maps move together), and read both biomes for any point in the corner readout.
  4. Swap or share — flip A and B with the swap button, or copy the link to send the exact comparison to someone else.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compare two Minecraft seeds?

Enter a seed in the A box and another in the B box, then drag the divider left or right to wipe between their maps. Both maps stay locked to the same coordinates, version and dimension, so you're always comparing the same spot in two different worlds — pan or zoom either side and both move together.

Do both seeds use the same version and dimension?

Yes. The whole point of an A/B compare is to hold everything constant except the seed, so the version, edition and dimension selectors apply to both maps at once. Switch the version at the top and both sides re-render on that version.

Can I compare a Java seed against a Bedrock seed?

Not in the same view — Java and Bedrock generate different worlds from the same number, so a cross-edition wipe wouldn't be a fair comparison. Pick one edition for both sides. To compare the same seed across editions, open it once as Java and once as Bedrock.

How accurate are the compared maps?

Each side is the same faithful world map used across the site — biomes and structure positions match what the game generates for that seed and version. A few terrain-dependent details can shift slightly when the world actually generates, so treat those as very close rather than pixel-perfect.

Can I share a comparison?

Yes — the link updates as you go, so copy the URL (or use the link button) and anyone who opens it lands on the exact same two seeds, position, zoom and divider spot.

Pro tip — drag the divider all the way to one edge to see a single seed full screen, then nudge it back to spot the differences. Toggle Structures off for a clean biome-only wipe, or on to compare where each seed drops villages, strongholds and more.
