Ruined portals come with a loot chest (gold tools and armor, enchanted books, obsidian, flint and steel) and most of a portal frame — light it and you have Nether access without mining a single obsidian block.

Frequently asked questions
- What's in a ruined portal chest?
- Gold-themed loot: golden tools and armor (often enchanted), gold blocks and nuggets, obsidian, flint and steel, fire charges and glowstone. It's a strong early haul and usually leaves you needing only a few obsidian to complete the frame.
- Are these portals already usable?
- They generate as damaged frames, so most need a little obsidian to close the ring before you light them — but the chest often supplies some, and you skip the diamond-pickaxe mining trip entirely.
- Do these seeds work on Java Edition?
- No — these are Bedrock Edition seeds. Java and Bedrock generate completely different worlds from the same seed, and Java also accepts much larger seed numbers, so a Bedrock seed won't reproduce this world on Java. Our Java lists are on the main best-seeds pages.
- Which Bedrock versions do they work on?
- They're verified on Bedrock 1.16. Structure placement is stable across the 1.16 line, and these positions also hold on the immediately neighbouring versions, but Bedrock worldgen has shifted in later updates — on a current version the same seed generates a similar but not identical world, so treat 1.16 as the reference.
